This is our “2nd Season” at the Boxcar Park location at the Port of Everett. Over the past six weeks customers who did not attend the Everett Farmers Market last season, continue to ask this question. Here is our answer:
Prior to 2016, the Everett Farmers Market was located at 1600 West Marine View Drive. We enjoyed a good long run of twenty-two years there, but situations change. Below, please read about the City of Everett’s plans for the Grand Avenue Park Bridge.
Grand Avenue Bridge – After the initial design stage prior to 2015, the City of Everett has awarded a contract for the construction of the Grand Avenue Park Bridge. “This bridge will span across the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks and West Marine View Drive, from 16th Street at the north end of Grand Avenue Park, to the west side of West Marine View Drive.”
“The purpose of the bridge is twofold. First, the bridge will carry pipelines across the steep slope, railroad tracks and West Marine View Drive. This is necessary to replace deteriorated underground pipelines. Second, and equally important, the bridge will provide pedestrian access to the waterfront.”
Our move to Boxcar Park: a beautiful space the Port and the EFM collaborated on as a temporary location, while the Port of Everett’s Waterfront Place is constructed during the next few years. Our space will be in transition during this time, and we expect to occupy different locations as construction progresses.
The Port of Everett and the Everett Farmers Market are working collaboratively to provide the best possible access for all to the Market space on Sundays. This includes directional signage, parking during Market hours, and access to disabled parking areas. The Market is located in an area of other businesses and tenants, and we strive to be respectful of their spaces as well.
