CDC Masking Guidance – Update May 13th

Governor Inslee announced that Washington will fully adopt masking guidance issued by the CDC earlier today Thursday, May 13, 2021. He stressed that this guidance is for fully vaccinated people — meaning people who are two weeks removed from their second shot of Pfizer or Moderna or the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

  1. Wear an appropriate face covering if you have not been vaccinated.
  2. Continue to practice good hygiene – wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer before you visit.
  3. Stay home if you are sick or experiencing symptoms.

The guidance does not apply to health care settings like hospitals, long-term care, or doctor’s offices; correctional facilities, homeless shelters, or schools. And the federal order requiring masks on public transportation remains in place.
